Artist's Description

According to tradition this lighthouse got its name from the money the early settlers paid the Indians for the land, others say it was named according to the number of sheep pens (pounds) were on the island. In 1817 Ten Pound Island Light gained attention when several people reported seeing a large sea serpent in the area.

Michelle Constantine

Michelle Constantine (previously Wiarda) Artist and Photographer - I was born and raised in Massachusetts, the north shore area. I began developing my artistic skills at an early age. I drew and painted images of horses, seacapes and landscapes. Nature intrigued me then, as it does now. I earned my degree from Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts, where I studied commercial art, as well as painting, drawing and photography. I was fortunate to live in such an inspiring, lovely coastal area. Its a real artist's paradise. After much practice, I've developed my style of watercolor technique from which I have created many seascape, landscape and architectural images.
