I called this painting 'Motif No. 1 Again'. I was inspired to do so by the painter Lester Hornby who taught painting classes in the summer in Rockport, Massachusetts. He would send his students out to paint whatever inspired them. When Hornby was presented with yet another painting of the red shack, he said, "What Motif No. 1 again!" It has been called that ever since. :-) Rockport is an artists' haven, many flock to the town to capture this idyllic New England scene. Motif No. 1 is the most painted in the world! How cool is that? I'm happy to be one of the many painters that have had the pleasure to paint this marvelous building and its surroundings.
