Description
This is an enhanced photographic image of a Pink Lady's Slipper (Cypripedium acaule), that I shot while visiting Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts in the spring. The Pink Lady's Slipper is also known as Moccasin Flower. The 'moccasin' and 'slipper' in the names indicate the settlers view of what the flower looked like. According to Native American Indian lore this flower was used to induce spirit dreams.
